October 13, 2020
The 5th German speaking NAFEMS Regional Conference NAFEMS DACH will be held online on 13-14 October 2020. The biennial conference offers an independent and exhaustive spectrum of information related to engineering simulation. This gives participants the opportunity to discuss successful applications and trends with specialists from research and industry.
Conference comprises several parallel sessions on such topics as Digital Twin, Optimization, Democratization, CFD, SPDM and much more. Sessions include the contributions of software users and developers and service providers.
We are glad to invite you to the presentation of the results of collaboration between DATADVANCE and Mvoid, expert in virtual acoustics for automotive, professional and consumer audio sectors.
Dr. Alfred J. Svobodnik from Mvoid will give a talk on “Multidimensional Optimization of Loudspeakers Based on Multiphysical Models” on 14 October at 12:00 CET within the panel session 6 - 1: Multiphysik/NVH.
Attendees will be able to ask questions to the lecturer via a chat window and to communicate directly with the lecturer by e-mail. NAFEMS members participate free of charge as part of their membership.
A virtual prototype is suitable for optimizing features of products and systems in an early development phase, hence offering a profound decision basis for improvements and necessary development steps. The optimum product often means finding the best balance between interacting technical parameters to meet divergent requirements as good as possible. Especially when a large number of variable parameters faces a multitude of objective functions, the methodology of virtual product development becomes particularly effective. In order to create a sufficient functional digital counterpart of an acoustic product it is necessary to apply various physical regimes, resulting in the combination of different simulation methods, mesh sizes, mathematical models and physical theories.
In order to explore the design options, optimization models based on predictive modelling, machine learning and neuronal networks are applied. These methods are also used to improve products in complex multidisciplinary contexts, subject to strong operational constraints and reliability requirements. Approximation models are generated for all relevant physical disciplines. These mathematical models vary the parameters from the virtual prototype and thus generate the surrogate model.
Dr. Alfred J. Svobodnik will demonstrate the methodology using a loudspeaker that operates in the non-linear regime and is optimized for multiple objective functions. A data link between the surrogate model and the virtual prototype was developed, automating the iteration process.
Mvoid – the Virtual Product Development Expert for Automotive, Consumer and Professional Audio – is a pioneer and expert in virtual acoustics with the focus on simulation all hardware of the audio chain. The company guides its customers in Virtual Product Development by utilizing advanced Multiphysics simulations. All aspects of the audio system are modeled, culminating in real-time auralizations where the full system is listened to in validating design decisions. The Mvoid methodology enables a development environment based purely on computer-generated models and Mvoid’s VRtool.
Mvoid is an independent, owner-operated company. Mvoid offers services to the global market, retained by premium automotive, professional and consumer audio companies. The company was founded in Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2011.
